Rapid Urban Prototype

A Mediation Between Two Languages

Savannah, Georgia

Design VI

Located in historic Savannah, Georgia, the intervention is situated on the Northwest corner of Monterery Square.  The challenge is the juxtaposition of the modern and the historical.  A piece of the solution is to enhance the project as a public building with a celebrated entry.  This exercise becomes a rapid investigation into the urban form.  Every design decision must become an evaluation of the project as a whole.  The deconstruction and re articulation of a simple rectilinear volume keeps the architectural language from being invasive upon the context around it
